It’s here! The very much awaited Sims expansion The Sims 3: Pets coming as a PC expansion pack, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo 3DS on October 18, 2011 in the US and and October 21 in Europe.
In this very creative and impressive expansion you can have a pet or be a pet and explore the game has a dog, a cat or a horse. The pet editor allows
you to create your own dog, cat and horse pretty much in any way
conceivable. You can create very peculiar looking pets and breed them to
see what you get or you can actually recreate a pet of yours.
Several new breeds are available to select and the pet creation comes
with several different personality traits that will make them very
unique.
You can also have smaller animals as pets like turtles, lizards, snakes and small rodents.
Another feature that was interesting was the possibility of taming wild horses and to create your own ranch.
Nintendo 3DS players will be able to trade pets among friends through Nintendo StreetPass.
I really can´t wait to try this one out!
Here’s the producer’s guide to the game:

Now it’s time to adress FPS royalty: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3!
With it’s release date set to November, 2011 it will come out to
Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and even a version for Wii
and Nintendo DS.
Lots of action will keep you and the troops with you busy through out
the missions in a game that gadders many goddies from MW2 and adds a
couple of very interesting new features.
There is a new Survival Mode in which one or two players will have to defeat several waves of enemies. Yeah, they just keep coming… at you!
The former Kill Streaks system is out. Now players are rewarded skill
points for things like kills, assists, completing objectives, etc. You
can choose three different Strike Packages that offer the player different advantages according to their playstyle: Assault, Support, and Specialist.
The Assault package considers more of a offense approach, the Support
package rewards gamers with team-based perks and Specialist lets players
have access to multiple perks during the match.
Another plus is the weapon proficiency. Basically the more you use a certain weapon it will level up and unlock more features.
It has also been confirmed a new game mode, Kill Confirmed,
where players pick up dog tags dropped from a team member or an enemy.
Picking up enemie’s tags after killing them gives you points and if you
pick up one from a fallen team mate you deny a kill.
I just read this at http://www.gamebreakers.co/2011/09/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-multiplayer-information-revealed-elite-premium-49-99-a-year/ where the author, Tyler Colp, shares:
“Now we get to the part where you have to pay Activision more money. The Call of Duty Elite Premium will cost you $49.99 a year. This paid version will grant you all “20 pieces” of DLC for the entire year. They plan on releasing map packs, Spec Ops missions and more. Along with the DLC, you can participate in daily content, like competitions, and other events. Unlike the free Elite package, the people that give up the less-than $5 a month will be able to level up their clans in a similar fashion to World of Warcraft. You will also be allowed to upload 8x the HD video length as you can without paying (read: ~3 min). I almost forgot to mention that “expert strategy and analysis” will be available to premium members from presumably high profile players.”
For the avid followers there’s also a great compilation of the
weapons available for the most antecipated game. Check out the link

What if you were a god?
What kind of god would you be? Would you be fair, kind and helpfull to your people or would you throw them someplace far… or maybe flat them with a big rock…
Would you like to find out?
Then you must try this game! Black and White 2 came out back in 2009 and here you play a god born from prayer’s devotion. The more people believe and pray for you the stronger you are!
You can make them believe by performing kind miracles to help them or
you can kill them in several creative ways and use their fear to make
them believe in you. The game interaction is very curious and god
appropriate since you move a hand around the screen performing miracle
through mouse controlled gestures.
To help you with the gameplay and with your decisions you have a
split conscience of two characters that represent good and evil. Obviously they keep pickin on each other making their interactions just hillarious!
You can also choose a creature (ape, lion, tiger, wolf or a cow)
which you will teach and train as your “representative”. The creature’s
personality will evolve acording to your actions and to what you decide
to teach her.
If this doesn’t sound interesting yet there will be battles against
other rival gods and epic battles were you can control huge armies.
Enjoy the videos with the gameplay and the creatures introduction!

At http://rpgfanatics.com/rpg-talk/mini-games-do-they-belong-in-rpgs/#comment-547, the author makes a very interesting post about the existence of mini-games inside a videogame:
“There are endless numbers of complaints from players concerning mini-games. In particular, Final Fantasy VII and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic both received waves of criticism for their racing-oriented mini-games. Players were either indifferent about them or absolutely hated their presence and tried everything they could to avoid having to play them. However, part of the disdain stems from the fact that the pod racing segment in KotOR and the chocobo racing mini-game for FF7 had to be completed for the player to proceed with the plot. Some experts have pointed out that, if that were not the case, the reaction might not have been so hostile. (…)
Ultimately, mini-games are a good way to break up the monotony and add a layer of immersion into an RPG. They provide details and a look into the world the game is set in, even if not all players like that sort of thing. However, they should remain entirely optional, rather than shoved in the gamer’s face.”
I personaly love the mini games inside RPG’s. Lot of time spent o Gold Saucer… and I got a little application that allowed me to play Tripple Triad on my PC like any other Windows game. Still, I agree that they should be optional within the game, because when you think about it, if someone wanted to play card game’s maybe they wouldnt play an RPG… They would stick to FreeCell or real card games.
What do you think?

Finally after years of waiting we can have a glimpse at the Blizzard newest, Diablo III.
For what we know so far this online game will not disappoint! The old
hack and slash style is present but with beautifull updated graphics.
The detail in the enemy creatures, the attacks and spells from the
heroes look their best and add the most creepyness in the Diablo’s dark
world. The scenarios are much more interactive in the sense you can
destroi items in the surrounding environment.
There are four classes available to stop the demons killing spree like the Barbarian, the Demon Hunter, the Witch Doctor and the Wizard. The menus, items and battle system are pretty much the same as Diablo 2 but there are some interesting news.
These include the possibility of PVP in arena and the existence of an auction house
to make user trading easier, in fact there will be two of them. The
players will have available one auction house with the game’s currency
(gold)and another one with real world money (dolar, euro, etc.).
The beta test version has recently become avalable for testing. We expect the full version of the game to be out in the market for 2012. Blizzrd promises no lag on Diablo 3. Will they keep their promise?
Recently Blizzard has made available on the game’s website for users to take a look at some of the weapons and items that might make an apparence on Diablo 3. They are represented in their basics stats only which means later changes but still, it’s will be nice to take a peek.
Anyway, it will be epic!
Enjoy the videos, trailer and gameplay!

I found this hilarious! If D3 became somewhat of a real person and had to go on a job interview, have you any idea how it would sound… errr read… Check the US rating board (by the way, it was rated M-mature):
Diablo III
Platform: Macintosh, Windows PC
Rating: Mature
Content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Violence
Rating summary: This is an action role-playing game in
which players assume control of a mortal hero (e.g., witch doctor,
barbarian, wizard) who must defend humanity from a demonic invasion.
From a 3/4–overhead perspective, players traverse dungeons and use
swords, axes, and magic attacks to kill a variety of human-like enemies
(e.g., zombies, demons, succubi). Battles are accompanied by slashing
and flesh-impact sounds, screams of pain, and frequent blood-splatter
effects; creatures often explode into bloody fragments as multiple
enemies are dispatched at once. Some levels depict burning corpses and
dead villagers amid large pools of blood.
Online Notice: * Includes online features that may expose players to unrated user-generated content (Macintosh, Windows PC)

The big buzz around the FF series in the FFXIII-2 coming out for XBox 360 and PS3, in December of this year in Japan, in January of 2012 for North America and in the following month in Europe. The graphics are a beauty as expected and the battle system seems very familiar.
Other good news is the return of minigames (casino like minigames) and chocobo racing in some sort of an amusement center similar to what we had on FFVII! I sure miss the good old days on Gold Saucer racing my chocobos!
It has also been disclosed that there will be DLC (downloadable content) for the game.
The fans feared that maybe part of the game is being hold out to be
sold aside for DLC and I must admit that I think that’s quite likely.
Although the game’s producer assured that wouldn’t be the case, in truth
if they actually do that it’s not like we will know….
Anyway in their words the DLC will be for weapons, armour, costumes and
monster packs. Some of these are to be reserved as pre-order bonuses.

At http://www.gamerscorner.co.uk/news/pre-order-extras-for-final-fantasy-xiii-2-revealed, the author Jake Rhodes, shares some interesting news:
“While Square Enix has yet to reveal what we can expect as pre-order extras for Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Europe but across the pond Americans already know what they’ll be getting.
Pre-order from Amazon and you’ll gain access to a unique boss battle against Omega who will then join your party after you defeat him while GameStop will give you an alternative costume for Serah.
Best Buy are offering perhaps the most interesting pre-order bonus, a hardback novel which will fill in the gap between the events of FF XIII and FF XIII-2.”
Goodies for Europe are still in the dark but it looks promising. They are really making pre-ordering worth it!
At http://www.finalfantasyradio.net/2011/10/final-fantasy-xiii-2-to-have-monthly-dlc/, the author shares:
“Dengeki magazine has been the source of some interesting reports today, first that you might be able to get your UMD games on Vita for a small fee, and now that Square Enix will be providing monthly DLC for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2.
The magazine sat down with Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase, who stated that each DLC will feature multiple items, and that gamers can expect one to two updates per month. Square Enix has already revealed ‘Boss Monster Omega’, which lets players take on Omega and recruit him to their party, as well as costumes for Noel and Sera, the game’s two main characters.”
For a small fee… Will the content be worth the said fee? That is the question…
At http://sgcafe.com/2011/10/final-fantasy-xiii-2-launch-dates-announced-for-south-east-asia-gets-chinese-and-english-version/, the author oOgA posts:
“All menus and text have been translated into Traditional Chinese and English, while still retaining the original Japanese voices.”
I like that they will keep the Japanese voices. It’s nice to see the game has it was intended by it’s creators. Hooray on that!

At http://lazygamereviews.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/the-sims-3-barnacle-bay-hidden-springs-review-video-is-online/#comment-509, the author posts a great video with a review of Barnacle Bay and Hidden Springs downloadable towns for Sims 3.
“After getting requests to review these downloadable towns almost daily, I figured it was about time I sit down and give my thoughts on these things.
And my viewpoint should be pretty obvious to those I’ve talked to about The Sims 3. I feel these are underwhelming and overpriced. Not the worst-looking places as far as towns go, but when you can download stuff that’s at least as good (if not better) for free, why bother?”
Apparently Barnacle Bay was obtainable online through download last year for $20 (or 2000 Sim points) but latter became only available in physical stores, meaning you had to buy it. And “it” is the right word since it was nothing more than a code on a videogame box that looked like a full expansion. After paying for the said content you realise that the downloadable town is nothing more more than Sunset valey with a few pirate related locations and items. Sure there are new NPC’s, new Sims and basically a new scenario. But still I think it’s too expensive and too disappointing.
Hidden Springs is full of rich Sims, huge houses and again with new characters and new items. But the argument is the same: the balance between price and acquired features are very unrelated. Please watch the authors video I think it’s a wake up call. And like he says, maybe to some fans of the game it is worth it, but I consider myself a fan of Sims and I was really disappointed.
What annoys me the most is their litle trick. Packing the downloadable town code like if there was a cd inside. They are selling the downloadable towns as if they were expansions and for the price of an expansion. All about making money…
